This artist collective really came in under the radar this year, but I luckily saw one of their ads while watching A&E at about 4 in the morning. Their post ironic/grindnoise/queercore sound might put some people off initially, but it really is the feelgood album of the year. The uplifting sounds really seem to be speaking to the listener. I imagine it will round out most critic's top 10 lists for 2008.

40 inspirational speeches edited together. It is amazing how consistent the required elements are to pump one up.

If you've seen the Adidas House Party commercial, you've heard this song. Remixed by Pilooski, another in the long line of fine Parisian DJ's.

Now when I go to bars, I'm going to carry a pocketful of captions to hold in front of all the awesome people around me.

In honor of my trip up to the old haunts this week, I'll feature a couple of artists from the Twin Cities.
Brother Ali- Badass albino hip-hop.
Jeremy Messersmith is getting a ton of plays on CIties 97 in Minneapolis right now since his song 7:02 was featured on Cities Sampler Vol. 20. I've read he is an "upbeat Elliot Smith."
Pumped to drive around in my rental and listen to MPR: The Current and Cities 97.

I could not resist this. Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer Women's Fashion Show in Paris. Guy and Thomas remix a set that climaxes with a mash-up of Lex by Ratatat and Technologic. All this before the grand finale where they go after what is basically their own: Stronger by Kanye.
